Lifting and Tightening for the Face and Body (Non-CME)

This session will focus on evaluating current non-surgical technologies on the market available for lifting and tightening of face and body. Treatment approaches will include energy-based devices (such as the delivery of ultrasound, radiofrequency, and muscle toning) as well as tissue micro-coring. Particular consideration will be given to proper patient selection, advanced combinations, and optimizing both treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Jennifer MacGregor, MD
Jennifer L. MacGregor, M.D. is a Board Certified dermatologist with fellowship training in cutaneous laser surgery and dermatologic procedures. Before joining UnionDerm in NYC, she was a member of one of the country’s most prominent laser dermatology practices in Washington, DC and directed the Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology Center for Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. MacGregor is an Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, followed by a prestigious laser, cosmetic and dermatologic surgery fellowship at SkinCare Physicians in Boston. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. MacGregor is a regularly invited speaker at national meetings and has authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters, including publications in Dermatologic Surgery, The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of Drugs and Dermatology and Archives of Dermatology. Her publications and lectures have addressed laser treatment of scars, laser skin resurfacing, skin tightening, treatment of cellulite, and body contouring.
Her most recent work focuses on aesthetic procedures in transgender and nonbinary patients and she was named by Huffington Post as a top NYC Dermatologist to the transgender community. She serves as an expert consultant to pharmaceutical, skjn care and medical device companies as well as industry leaders as an ally in their efforts to support the LGBTQIA+ community using a gender fluid approach to beauty and aesthetics. She is a regular contributor to national beauty media and her ideas and expertise have been highlighted in major outlets including Vogue, NY Magazine, Wormens Health, Cosmopolitan, The Huffington Post, Bustle, ELLE and Good Housekeeping.
Dr. MacGregor serves on the editorial board for Dermatologic Surgery, as a reviewer for multiple journals, as an educator for Columbia University Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical center Dermatology residents and UnionDerm fellowship trainees. Dr. MacGregor’s clinical practice focuses on laser and medical device-based procedures (including skin resurfacing, treatment of birthmarks, vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, tattoos, scars) in combination with injectable neurotoxin, fillers and thread lifting. She also combines novel treatments for body contouring and cellulite and is recognized as a world-class expert on Ultherapy and skin tightening. Her philosophy regarding cosmetic procedures is that her patients should look natural and healthy, but never as if they have had ‘work done’. She has a special interest in enhancing overall skin health along with aesthetic treatments for patients with underlying medical conditions, traumatic scars, burn scars, severe sun damage, previous complications or acne scarring.
Mona Sadeghpour, MD
Dr. Sadeghpour is a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas Collegium V Honors Program and received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. Following her residency at University of Pittsburgh, where she served as chief resident, Dr. Sadeghpour completed the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS)-accredited fellowship in laser and cosmetic surgery at the renowned SkinCare Physicians in Boston, Massachusetts. During that year, she was the recipient of American Society of Dermatologic Surgery’s (ASDS) Frederic Brandt Grant, where she studied the utility of lasers in treatment of melasma. Her research works have received the American Society of Laser Medicine & Surgery Best of Session Abstract Award as well as the ASDS Drs. Alastair and Jean D. Carruthers Research Abstract Award.
Dr. Sadeghpour previously served as the Director of the Center for Skin, Laser, and Cosmetic Surgery at University of Colorado where she led and created an innovative educational curriculum to train physicians-in-training in laser and cosmetic dermatology. She was also the Founder of SkinMed Institute, an innovative private practice in Denver, Colorado where she established a Center of Excellence for treatment of skin conditions in patients with Skin of Color and where she continued to educate medical students and residents in training prior to her moving back to Pittsburgh to be closer to family.
Her clinical interests include melasma and disorders of hyperpigmentation, complications and safety in lasers, injectables, and cosmetic surgery techniques, and the utilization of laser medicine as it relates to evidenced-based treatment of dermatologic health and disease. She continues to lecture and teach physicians and residents nationally at academic institutions as well through multiple national societies, where she holds leadership positions.
Omar Ibrahimi, MD, PhD
Dr. Omar A. Ibrahimi is the founding and medical director of the Connecticut Skin Institute. He is a board certified Dermatologist who has completed advanced fellowship training in Skin Cancer, Laser and Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Ibrahimi has trained at the most prestigious medical institutions in the country. He is one of the foremost physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of skin cancer, as well as medical and cosmetic issues involving the skin. He has been honored as a Castle-Connolly Top Doctor since 2016 for his outstanding patient care.
Dr. Ibrahimi was born and raised in New York City. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School and then attended New York University for both his undergraduate and medical school education. He is a graduate of the rigorous MD-PhD program and was honored with the Sulzberger award given to the top graduating medical student in dermatology. He then completed his Dermatology training at Harvard Medical School working at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Boston, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Boston Veteran’s Hospital. Omar then completed a fellowship program in Mohs and Reconstructive Surgery, Laser and Cosmetic Surgery at the University of California – Davis.
Dr. Omar Ibrahimi is accredited by the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Lasers in Surgery and Medicine and the American Academy of Dermatology. He is well-known nationally and internationally, having been an invited speaker at numerous national meetings, and has written extensively about Mohs Surgery, Laser and Cosmetic Procedures. Dr. Ibrahimi has published many articles on skin cancer surgery, laser and cosmetic procedures in leading medical journals. He has also performed tens of thousands of cases of Mohs Surgery and Laser and Cosmetic procedures. Dr. Ibrahimi has been responsible for unveiling and optimizing many of the latest cosmetic procedures that have hit the market in recent years and his practice is among the first to receive the latest innovations in aesthetic dermatology.
Dr. Ibrahimi has served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School in the Wellman Center for Photomedicine. The Wellman Center for Photomedicine is the world’s leading research center, where the majority of today’s laser and cosmetic technologies were invented and tested. He is an active participant in many clinical trials of new technologies. Prior to founding the Connecticut Skin Insititute, Dr. Ibrahimi was also an Assistant Professor of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery and Mohs Surgery at the University of Connecticut, and served as the Director of Laser and Cosmetic Surgery.
